The Vice-Rector’s Office for International Relations at the Universidad de Granada organises Orientation Weeks for International Students each year.
There is one Orientation Week towards the end of September (for those students who will follow courses at the UGR for the whole academic year or for the first semester) and at the beginning of February (for those students who will be at the UGR for the second semester).
The aim is to welcome our incoming International students and give them essential information on registering at the International Relations Office, the international student card, enrolment on courses, the services provided by the UGR and the leisure activities we have planned for during each orientation week.
The meetings are usually held one week before each semester/academic year begins.
Thanks to these orientation weeks, we can ensure that your stay at the UGR as an international student will be an unforgettable and problem-free experience.
MANDATORY!! Follow this link, and read careflully
February 2012:
You can go directly to the welcome meeting.
You have applied for an exchange postion using the on-line application service: we have your data and your photo in our records. In the welcome meeting you will provide to the International Office:
1) photocopy of your identity card or passport
2) copy of your online-application
3) two photos (if you did not upload it in the on-line apllication)
4) copy of the certificate--confirmation from your home University stating that you are an ERASMUS student
Then the International Office will made your ERASMUS card and they will send it to the ETSIIT. When we will receive your ERASMUS card, we will contact you and you will come to the ETSIIT for your registration.
The ERASMUS card is required to be registered at ETSIIT
In the welcome meeting we will inform you about all you need for your stay in Granada.
Once you have your ERASMUS card, you must register (in spanish, matricularse) in our Faculty. You have to go to the International Office at ETSIIT and you have to contact with Mr. José Luis Mercado (jlpinos
ugr.es), the administrative staff. He will help to you to fill-in the registration form and to choose the courses you want to study. They should be (with minor changes) what you marked in the table PROPOSED STUDY PROGRAMME AT THE UGR in the APPLICATION FORM.
IMPORTANT: Yo will not have to right to attend the exams nor obtain your marks for a course in the Transcript of Records if you are not registered in that course
Before your registration, please, make sure that you can attend the lectures. Attending is not compulsory in many courses, but it is highly reccommended. Most of the laboratories are not optional and you should attend them. You can download the timetable information for our web page.
If you have to change any courses you need the OK from your University. There is an official document, the Leaning Agreement which must be completed.
You can choose any of the subjects offered by ETSIIT. Please, check the courses at ETSIIT.
Our staff, and Prof. Francisco Cortijo (etsi2doc
ugr.es) , the Head of the International Office at ETSIIT will help if you have any problem. They will also give you any information that you need and help you to choose the most accurate subjects.
If you are or want to be a student at the University of Granada (UGR), you will find useful information (general information about our University) provided by the International Office
The students have a personal account at the ETSIIT to use Internet and e-mail. Students have a quota of disk to allow them to work in the labs. This account will be given after the registration process is finished.
When the lectures begin, if you believe you need some extra help, do not wait until it is too late. Talk to your professors, they will be glad to help with any problem, as long as they can.
There is a free access lab for the students. The number of seats, however, is not too large.
Our Faculty (and all the faculties and administrative bulideings at the UGR) has wireless internet access. You can access internet wherever you want, so if you have a portable computer you will be able to work easily!!
Before you go back home do not forget to ask for your transcript of records. You have to ask for it in the International Office (assistant staff). The report will sent to your home address.
